This is the first Poster I made for a IRL contest our school is holding. It's about Latvian War of Independence (1918-1920), and this is about a historical event, when our President came back home on a ship called "Saratov".

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactFirstly, I love this poster.
The things that might be better is the fading gradient of the typography that comes over the image, the last two-three letters could stand out better at the bottom. And the text above "Ulmana Valdiba" should not hang on it, the lower letters (g, j, p etc) shouldn't come into the banner like they do. When you want text above this kind of banner again I'd make it a little more higher so the letters don't get in the way.
Other than that I see nothing wrong with this picture. I love the grainyness of the photograph, the old feeling you're clearly creating gets through. And the light texture of the background is brilliant.
Also love the colors in it.
