Oh. My. Gosh. This is beautiful! As soon as I saw it when I was looking through your "Phoneography," I wondered, "What kind of cell phone does he have that takes such good photos?!?!" It's absolutely amazing. The fading at the edges may seem like bad quality to you, but to me, it looks like a high-tech effect that adds even more impact than even edges. You need to keep doing this, Dark, because you really do have a talent for taking perfectly timed photographs. I love your photography, I really do. Five stars all around, from me at least!
The slight blurry quality actually WORKS here, though, cellphone or not. Why "hopeless"? I get a sense of industrial isolation...are the ferry cars going to work or to home? The skyline looks uniformly mechanized...very nice shot!
Really neat photo! I get a feeling like something bad is about to happen or already has... by looking at it..., but then again - maybe that's just the opposite and Zalgiris is waiting just to carry us to a tropical island with lots of earthly delights.
Actually I like the "bad quality" how you called it. The pale coloring and the grain remind me of the great lomographic effects that kind of breathe new life into photography that nowadays strives for absulute and sterile perfectionism. That's maybe why so many people here wrote that the picture sets free emotions. Also the composition of the picture is very nice! The industrial panorama tilts a bit from the left image border to the right so that I have the impression of moving with the waves.
