Wow. There is so much that can be said about this photograph. At first, the dark colours the high contrast gives you a cold and forlorn feeling. It's a very lonely picture. There's no one around and it is dark. The scene is very gothic. The angle of the picture suggests maybe a bit of chaos. The deep colour of the clouds gives the feeling that something bad is about to happen. It is just a dark piece altogether.

And then you have to appreciate the beauty of it. The ancient cobblestone walls are still standing in full detail. The black-and-white really accents the ancient stonework. The picture is crystal clear and wonderful. The vegetation implies that the place is forsaken, yet they give it a more homey and welcoming feel, like a lonely child.

Overall, I'd rate this piece as "wicked lovely". I applaud you.
